Yemeni Forces Report Major Operations Against Houthi Positions
Military spokesman Majed Abdullah al-Nuzaili said the campaign focused on a range of Houthi military targets, including artillery and rocket-launching sites, defensive positions, routes used for movement and advances, supply networks, reinforcements and troop concentrations, as well as command facilities and control centers.
The operations were carried out in Saada, Al-Jawf and Taiz provinces, in addition to areas along Yemen’s western coastline.
Al-Nuzaili said government forces used various forms of military power during the operations, including aircraft, drones, artillery, missiles, rocket launchers and sniper units.
He added that the attacks resulted in the destruction or disabling of 364 military vehicles, along with transportation and logistical supply equipment.
The military spokesman said government forces would maintain their campaign with the aim of recovering state territory and institutions while restoring national sovereignty.
The announcement followed a decision by Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi on Sunday to begin broad military operations against the Houthis. He said the armed forces, security services and other military formations had been instructed to move against areas controlled by the group.
